I have now recovered from my trip up
to Radcliffe Judo Club near Nottingham for the annual
Christmas Budo course held there each year. The course
has grown bigger each year and attracted some forty
plus training and around a dozen instructors from
a number of different martial arts, these included
Judo, Akido, Tai-Chi, Ju-Jitsu, Karate and Kendo,
with representatives of clubs from the all over England
and also Northern Ireland and Spain
attending.
Most of those attending where from Zen
Judo style clubs but some from other styles also attended
plus a number of people who had little or no experience
of Judo or Ju-Jitsu. The good thing about these courses
is that they allow you to try other martial arts and
styles which you would not normally do. The trick
(which I still have to learn) is when to give up gracefully
and go and sit on the side lines with the more sensible
attendees, this then allows you to observe and
comment on those less fortunate (Younger and fitter)
than
yourself from the safety of a chair.
Joking aside I would once again like
to thank Shihan Lawson and his instructors (see list
below) for a great course and look forward to next
year.
Shihan Gordon Lawson (and the Radcliffe instructors);
Sensei John Cox; Sensei Charles and Keith; Sensei
Jim Dart; Sensei Tollo; Gordon McGowan and Keith Harby.
(I hope I havn't missed anyone ?)
