On the 19th April I at last got round to successfully completing my grading for my Zen Judo Family 1st Dan Black Belt at Love Lane Petersfield.
This ended up having to be a special grading session as I was originally going to grade back in January but unfortunately very badly bruised my left shoulder two day's before the grading and ended up in the Queen Alexander hospital Accident and Emergency department having an x-ray and lots of pain killers.
It has taken me most of the last three months to get the shoulder back into working order and I was very lucky I didn't dislocate or break it.
A timely reminder that even within Zen Judo Clubs accidents do happen from time to time and that at the end of the day we are practicing a martial art.
