Zen Judo - A Traditional Judo Style

"In true Budo there is no enemy or opponent. True Budo is to become one with the universe, not train to become powerful or to throw down some opponent. Rather we train in hopes of being of some use, however small our role may be, in the task of bringing peace to mankind around the world."

- Morihei Ueshiba

Shihan Dominick McCarthy (8th Dan).

“As a Humble being, I try hard to pass on to others his marvellous skill. As the great man said. “It is for everyone”.  It is not confined to associations and committees. It spells freedom for all people. It eliminates fools who abuse it and allows the dedicated to prevail.

Time is of no consequence. You cannot be in a hurry on a round planet or, to put it nearer to home, why hurry when your not going out of the room in which you are practicing. Love your practice and it will reward you”.

From Start to End - From Colour To Colour

The white is yours from the start, so hold it well.
Yellow, to eliminate your fear, brings out the best.

Orange, to feed the fruit of your labours, to ban all pretext;

Green, to gather wisdom like Mother Earth.

Blue, to reach for the sky - its limits are yours.

When Brown appears, like fertile soil, you are almost settled.

Only Black, at the last, helps you peer through the darkness,

of the everlasting light of Arts.

Dominick McCarthy.
